“It’s not easy to make $10k a month online,” said one of my favourite BS-smashing Influencers, Luke Matthews. “Influencers are lying to you, and you are dumb for believing it…”
He inspired me to think of a kind way to call you dumb, in a Cazzie-tongue-in-cheek kind of way.
So how’s this: You’re dumb if you’re in pain and don’t do anything about it.
At the moment, I’m being dumb. Like, dumber than dumb. I’m in pain and struggling to do anything about it because doing so hurts.
In pain. Try to do some stretching. Hurts. Stop because it’s bloody painful. In pain. Repeat.
Pain on a scale of eight out of ten. Daily. Hourly. Minutely. It distracts me from quality thinking. It prevents me from deep, restorative sleep. Shoulders, neck, upper arms, lower back, buttocks, hips, upper thighs, ankles…
I’m dumb because I have all the reasons [cough cough: the positive end of the excuses scale].
I know what’s causing it. It’s my beautiful, very understandably selfish 10myo who demands a stool at my Milk Bar whenever he damn well pleases and utterly, stubbornly, completely, rudely refuses to drink from a bottle. So, his demanding daily and nightly schedule controls my body.
And yet, that’s dumb too. It’s the cause, but it doesn’t mean I have to suffer. I could:
Take drugs [the legal kind… although, I have been watching this great Netflix show called How to Change Your Mind all about the illegal kind, which has me thinking… I digress… ]
Pushing past the pain during stretching and stretching more often.
Seeing some kind of therapist who understands the car crash impact that birthing and breastfeeding has on a woman’s body.
Lap swimming as exercise.
You see, there’s dumb and then there’s not-so-dumb.
Are you being dumb?
See the original post so you know Luke’s not actually being a dick: https://lnkd.in/gv-XaS3Y
P.s Luke, I was being the former of your two options, but, I do like that you noticed how I used my emotional intelligence to take the mickey.
